Here is a set of questions that I received from FredFarns. I wanted to share my response to these questions and show you how using this simple technique can get you off to a great start and ultimately to helping you make money online with the fast start technique.
“I’m not new to IM, but you have a different twist on it. Of course there are details, and questions.. Here goes..
1) I’m not experienced with hub pages. Is your strategy to get the hub page indexed in Google, to get Google search traffic for the hub page?
2) How do you get back-links, are they comment posts on blogs?
3) Then you “Build a quick blog – wordpresss blog.” Is this on your own domain, or are you using the free wordpress blogging service on their own server?
4) Do you make a separate blog for each product, or just separate posts all on the same blog?
5) What do you put in the blog, is product description and product reviews, re-written?
There are more questions, but I don’t want to overwhelm you.
FredFarnes”
Thanks for not overwhelming me with questions, I appreciate it.
The biggest secret that I learnt online is that 90% of the Amazon products I promote will make very few dollars each day. However the 10% of Amazon products that are winners that will makes me hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars a day.
So I had to figure out a way to make sales and find the winning products first before I invested money and time upfront. Early on I spent so much money on domains that I used up all my profits without taking a dime from this business.
One day I figured that I could use free web 2.0 sites that can act as a temporary blog to test Amazon products and find the 10% of the products that made money so that I can scale this later.
Of all the sites that I tested, I found hub pages we good for a few reasons to help me make money now
1. It was free.
2. My hubs could rank high very fast when I promoted this the right way.
3. Just by putting up a page and linking directly to amazon I could easily start promoting amazon products in a few hours.
4. Google considers hub to be an authority sites and the pages get indexed faster than my blogs.
Therefore I came up with this unique method and used hub as a starting point for my promotions
So to answer your questions directly
1) I’m not experienced with hubpages. Is your strategy to get the hub page indexed in google, to get google search traffic for the hub page?
Yes, i quickly get them indexed, social bookmark, rss feed them. Hub pages rank well for me. Remember i am doing a quick test to see if product sells.
Also, there techniques allow you to get natural traffic from hub pages and use the hub pages engine to get you views without too much seo effort.
And yes, i do some promotion to get Google traffic.
Remember these product keywords are extreme long tail. You get results or not quickly.
I create pages, do some basic promo, leave them for weeks, watch my amazon account and see if i made sales.
Key to fast results – i have 40 -50 different product pages going on a one time. Some of them convert others don’t. I still make money with each one on the odd sales.
You just need to get started and ball rolling. In fact use any social media property that works for you. I have spent so much time in hub that i kind of figured some cool ways to do some testing quickly. Use your imagination. In peak season (back to school, holidays, the traffic rocks with some basic work on hub)
This is just the testing phase
2) How do you get back-links, are they comment posts on blogs?
I do basic stuff, forum posts, bookmarking, some articles and some basic promotion tools – i use Software tools like evo 11 while others use seo nuke. A few hours and i get some basic promotion done.
Now i have a specific back link plan in place.
But just basic stuff when i am in the testing phase.
3) Then you “Build a quick blog – wordpresss blog.” Is this on your own domain, or are you using the free wordpress blogging service on their own server?
Hmm, good question. I use my own wordpress on a hosted domain. I did not try the free version though this may work.
Remember i have made sales so now i go forth and buy domain.
However with Amazon’s own information you will get a gut feel of what is working over time and go ahead and buy a few names and let the domain mature for a few months.
4) Do you make a separate blog for each product, or just separate posts all on the same blog?
I do both depends on the situation. Lets take an example, if it is digital cameras and i sold a few on Amazon and want to go for it in the long term, then make many posts on all different types on this blog.
The goal is to get your site an authority site so your posts get naturally high ranking. This is the equivalent of posting on Hub. But that takes time and effort.
Now if i see if a product is doing really well and has long term potential…it could be in top 100 bestseller for 400 or 500 days then i buy a domain around that and all most posts are related to that one product.
I will usually have about 30 posts to start off then start link building etc. I know this product may be around for a few years. Otherwise, just use hub, social media dominate for a short-term move on.
My view. Please just forget about the technology for a moment. Ask yourself can i make money on product (not anyone but me), if i can how can i get as traffic directly to the product (then decide on your
platform – social media (short term, blog for long term, then promote this).
I am getting good at wordpress and it works for me. If you are good at blogger and works, then go for it.
The more you focus on technology the less sales you make when getting started. Once you sell then focus on scaling with technology to make money.
Why spend time of technology or anything when you did not even make one sale.
I am saying this because this is what i did myself and wasted my life savings and had to start from ground zero. Make a sale first, then figure out technology last.
5) What do you put in the blog, is is product description and product reviews, re-written?
My Amazon philosophy is simple. People who want amazon products are already buyers. I have no intention of convincing them to buy. I know they want it or they are just browsers.
I just make them feel good buying and tell them why they are making a smart decision so they can justify to their friends and significant other.
So for example (this is going to be crazy so stick with me here. Say you are selling womens Haines underwear on your blog) with a link to amazon.
My audience is female. So i would say something like how this is going to make her feel sexy and when her man sees her he is going to want her more. She can feel flirty and comfortable at the same time. Here are what others on amazon are saying about it.
So i go to amazon reviews, see why people have bought, rewrite the same thing and make them feel good about buying and point to those testimonials.
Please note, this is not false blog review or false testimonials. I write in a way that is ethical what others are experiencing on amazon and more importantly i justify their decision to buy.
Whether you want to use review format, product descriptions is up to you. BTW,who ever feels excited about buying when they read a product description.
If selling the iphone which is hot right now..
The iphone has 500 applications for you vs. if you are in another city, no need for gps, fire up your iphone with tom tom app and your coworkers will think you are a natural genius and well travelled guy. You know you made the smart decision by buying iphone and downloading app.
Giving a visual of what you can do with the product is better than listing features.
This is the fastest way to get started and make money online.
Thanks for the great questions
